Whilst stream works wonderfully well for video, audio appears to not work. I have looked endlessly for a solution to enable sound to be heard from a camera source or from a microphone attached to my RPI so I can hear it in the HASSIO frontend through my phone, to no avail.
Am I chasing unicorns?
I have tried Listen to audio: from microphone to the web (in real time) [WORKING], but this would only appear to work on Home Assistant as the command lines refer to a path which doesn’t exist on HASSIO.
I read an excellent article https://smarthome.university/camera-for-home-assistant/?unapproved=1760&moderation-hash=6a647856870c17da498454f95510f0e7#comment-1760 which makes reference to “The only requirement is to have a camera that supports separate audio feed locally”, but no further information exists to steer me in the right direction.
I am running Hassio and I have both Foscam C1’s and Xiaomi-Dafang-Hacks cameras. I also have a USB microphone installed.
Can anybody put me out of my misery once and for all and either suggest a way to solve this problem or tell me it isn’t possible.
