My HA Iphone App is set to ‘always’ update location, but for a mysterious reason it resets itself to ‘when using App’. Does anyone know of a solution ?

I have an issue that might be connected to this. My wife and my iPhones ha app does not seem to update location data very often if at all.
I have to restart or force updates on locations in app which is very not useful.
My location services does so always on
