I have an old iRobot e5 Roomba and added it to HA using the iRobot integration. This works fine.
A few questions remain. First, the Roomba can be controlled via HA and via the app. So apparently HA uses the iRobot cloud servers. I was under the impression that would use a local (LAN) connection. I don’t need (want) a cloud.
This seems to be related to the Continuous setting of the integration. But when I switch this off, the e5 becomes offline and unavailable.
Second, once the e5 has been integrated into HA, the indicator lights remain lit, as if the e5 is always on instead of standby. Is this normal?
HomeAssistant 2021.12.10 on RPi3B (Home Assistant OS 7.1).
