Is captive portal active_()

1. is there anyway to modify esphome core component.cpp / .h file and recompile? i’ve did it but but while compiling it overrides to original file. i need to check “if in captive portal” and blink led 3 times indicating to search wifi in phone and configure the device. suggest kindly.

currently “is_captive_portal_active_()” bool function is available but it is under protected: in “wifi_component.h”

is it possible to modify the xxx.cpp and compile again successfully?
