Is HACS safe to use

I want to protect my Information panel with Kiosk mode and saw that ‘Custom Header’ can fix it.
But it requires HACS to be installed … which I did.
After a while my Xiaomi Aqara temperatur sensors connected via deconz stopped working … they did not give me updated information. Before HACS they worked OK.
Is HACS reliable?
I guess I am not the only one who wants run an Information panel in Kiosk mode so I think that Kiosk mode should be implemented in Hassio (which is a great software) and not as it is now via HACS.

If I am wrong and have missed something please guide me in the right direction …

Two things:

  1. You don’t have to use HACS to install Custom Header
  2. HACS didn’t cause your problem

OK … I see there is a manual installation also … will try that.
You mention that HACS didn’t cause my problem … but the problems occurred after HACS was installed.

Correlation does not equal causation.

I tried to manually install it …

The ‘custom-header.js’ is stored in /config/www/custom-lovelace/compact-custom-header

$ ls -l /root/config/www/custom-lovelace/compact-custom-header
-rw-r–r-- 1 root root 105992 May 3 15:33 custom-header.js

and I entered in Configuration/Lovelace Dashboards/Resources as:

Url
/config/www/custom-lovelace/compact-custom-header/custom-header.js

Resource type
JavaScript Module

rebooted but no Custom Header in the UI menu.

When I entered

lovelace:
  mode: yaml

#
# Add-On for lovelace
#
  resources:
    - url: /local/custom-lovelace/compact-custom-header/custom-header.js
      type: module
config $

it worked … strange !
