I have not looked at Hass kiosk mode yet. Do they just happen to have some overlapping features or direct competition?
Or are they for two totally different purposes?
Just different styles for the same purpose?
It’s about choice and preference IMO.
They look and work differently and have different design goals. I use HASS frontend on my phone because it scales well, but I prefer HADasboard for wallmount because it has bigger things to click and is a darker color (although that has been addressed with themes).
If you prefer the HASS UI with a dark theme in kiosk mode that’s cool. At the end, it’s up to you, and just extra choice, there is no competition here, just coexistence

I guess competing was a bad choice of words. I was picturing it like a slotted and phillips screwdriver. Both kind of screws work, and it may depend on which one is handy for what kind of tool you need.
I was wondering what you can do in one or the other that better suited for X, whatever X is.
Best way is to try it out and see!

i think you best look at the pictures from both. (or do i say from HAdashboard) to see the difference
Don’t forget to look at Floorplan too. It is highly configurable and you can make multiple views/screens using it.
