Is Home Assistant right for me?

I’ve had a look around the forums and the support for devices is impressive but I am seeking some advice about home assistant and my configuration - will it work, is it the best thing?

My current config:
Harmony controlling AV gear and air con in lounge
Echo dot(s)
RaspberryPi running HA Bridge (to make everything work with alexa)
Philips hue hub, bulbs and sensors
Logitech pop controlling some hue bulbs (runs independently)
Fibaro Home Center 2 controlling some z-wave devices: Aeotec gen 5 switches, Fibaro dimmers (not yet installed), Aeotec multisensor (old round one), aeotec repeater, remotec air conditioner controller, Fibaro “the button” (not using as too unreliable)
Waiting on delivery of some Broadlink RM mini 3s

The main question is - I have already invested in the Fibaro Home Center 2. Does home assistant give me benefits above the existing hardware?
I would be looking at replacing the HC2 and HA bridge with one instance of Home Assistant running on a Raspberry Pi with an Aeotec z-wave USB controller. Does anyone see issues with the hardware I am using (known incompatibilities)? Should I just stick with the Fibaro?

I want to install the Fibaro Dimmers and control the lights around the house with some more smarts. Is HA good for this? Also hoping to use the Broadlinks to control some more hardware (eg bedroom air conditioner and fan).

Thanks for your help!

The list of supported components is here. A quick glance shows that there’s support for Hue, Harmony, Broadlink RM, Emulated Hue (for Alexa), oh, and Z-Wave

Will it give you any benefits? Well, look at the component list and the documentation and see if it brings anything you want to do, but can’t.

Obviously, folks on this forum will tend to tell you it’s a better choice than Fibaro, and folks on the Fibaro forum will tell you it’s the best choice. Neither are wrong, or right, it’s about what works for you. Before I settled on Home Assistant I looked at all the major options, including Fibaro.

For me the main issues were the issues with being unable to take a backup and restore it to a new system (without major help from Fibaro), and the relative inflexibility. Home Assistant gives me the ultimate flexibility, at the cost of fortnightly updates and a relatively immature platform. Of course, the fortnightly updates are about the pace of change and improvements.
