Is it possible for Automation to start Voice Assistant Conversations?

Is there a service to call to start the voice assistant conversation process without using a wake word?

Ie when trigger occurs, voice assistant plays message and waits for voice response?

One example :
Laundry finished trigger
VA : dishwasher is finished, who will empty the machine?
Someone: “Josh will do it”
HA:sends notification to Josh to empty dishwasher.

I don’t find a service to force “Assist” for listening, but i found a workaround with esp32 only. Not the best one but it works.

It’s possible… For my first attempt, when the sun is below horizon, tts say " sun is below horizon, do you whant close the shutters ?" , I say " yes, i want" and it works. Thank you. That will do great for what I am after.
Next step is to redirect responses to specific speaker, not the Voice Assistant devices speaker. But I think we need to wait for that feature.

Reusing Google nest speakers for response, but with Assist microphones, TTS

Hi all, so on my quest to find ways to use Assist more and more to replace Google Assistant at home, I’ve been playing with a couple of ESP32 satellites, and a conference speaker at home. I can get these solutions to work mostly, but I can’t help thinking about reusing the existing Google nests I have around the house already (I have at least that I use currently for TTS, and general other stuff like playing music etc).
