Is it possible to Automate an emergency text to a set # or to 911?

I am in a remote area that now has home invasions. I use pushbullet in some automations but am wondering how to send a notifcation to a system without pushbullet? Like a text # of a friend or better yet 911 with a set message? I envision that I could acivate with the simple push of a z wave button designated for emergency only, a silent alarm if you will. Or a certain phrase uttered to ok google…the time for pizza is nigh…and voila, the cops get a message saying home invasion at 1234 any street blah blah blah, and they then drop in via helicaopter and shoot up the place…I know about sms services but considering it likely will never be used I need a system I can test to my own # and then likely never use, a free service

Take a look at the smpt notification component and you can send SMS via emails.

So for example I use cricket and can send messages to myself via

There is an email option for probably every wireless carrier out there.

Not sure about any automated 911 that would be interesting

The only downside to a setup like this, not all 911 locations accept text requests. It all depends on the system installed in your locale. Some areas have come into the 21st century, but the duty of a 911 dispatcher is to determine legitimacy and priority of calls (someone calling about a vehicle incident with injuries takes higher priority than a security system alarm) and that usually requires a conversation with the calling party to get details. Additionally, some towns require a certificate from the remote monitoring station (ADT, Vivint, etc) indicating active alarm monitoring service otherwise they may not respond.

That will work, thank you! Very easy to find the suffix for all carriers, and if a person does not know the carrier of the intended target ( just ask them or ) its easy to just enter all the carriers and fire off the email for conversion to text, only 1 will work. Example for Canada ( where i am) just change the 866# to the actual target #

wish a 911 direct solution was available but this is a step in the right direction.

This is true, however I know in my area we do have that functionality, ehanced services and text for hearing impaired. Was not wanting to use a alarm service, idea was to have self managed which possibly could be used foolishly, but not more so than anyone can call or text now, and if this service i propose were abused it would be met with same consequences for these other similiar abuses. Thank you for replying.
