Is it possible to dim smart lights with a smart dimmer?

I’ve got a smart dimmer relay from Fibaro in a room installed in the wall, on top of it a regular rocker button

With a regular light bulb, I could just hold down the button and the bulb would slowly dim or brighten. Now I wanted to change to smart light bulb from Innr to also create some color scenes as well as be able to dim. Is it somehow possible to continue using this smart dimmer to also dim a light bulb? It would probably need to have its “actual” dimming functionality (reducing electrical current) deactivated somehow and should instead simply send a signal to HA and HA then in turn send a dimming signal to the bulb for it to work, right?

Yes. Wire the light so that it is always on and automate turning on or off or changing the brightness when the smart dimmer changes.

Hmm, but then I’d lose any ability to actually physically turn off the lights in case HA is somehow non-responsive right? I’d still like to maintain that ability, at least to be able to turn if on/off in a dumb way

Correct. You can’t have it both ways.

The best option would be to wire your smart dimmer up to dumb lights and use the smart bulb elsewhere, like in a lamp.

So I can’t play around with colored smart bulbs and a dimmer relay then?
