Is it possible to have custom cards and still edit via UI?

I get that you need to enable

lovelace:
  mode: yaml

but is it possible to add custom cards without this and add them via UI? Where is the UI lovelace.yaml stored?

You can still do it and that’s how I do it as well.
You can view your lovelace.yaml when u select “Raw config editor” from the top right menu in your HA-UI. You can edit this file directly as you did in the yaml mode, this includes adding custom cards as resources. You can now use them in the “Configure UI” mode as well.

so there is no disadvantage using the yaml mode ?

I never used lovelace with the yaml mode enabled so I might be wrong. But the way I understood it, is that you cannot edit the configuration directly in the UI if you have yaml mode enabled.
