I am using Home Assistant with its Homekit component (not the homekit controller!) and its just working great together with the Home app of Apple. First of all: Thanks a lot for this!
Now I want to use another old fashioned homebridge addon besides the existing Home Assistant Homekit intgeration, therefor I installed a standalone “Homebridge” instance with this addon only.
With this setup I now can integrate all Home Assistant devices and the Homebridge accessories to my Apple Home app. So far, so good
But ther is still one thing missing: Is it possible to get these new standalone homebridge devices into Home Assistant in any way? I tried it with the HomeKit Controller component, but this seems not to work as I thought because I always can see exactly one device in HA which does not reflect the configured Homebridge accessories. Any ideas to get my challenge solved? Or is this just not possible?
I hope I have expressed myself clearly enough, if not, please feel free to inquire.
I wouldn’t use homebridge if at all possible. If you can integrate the devices in HA then the homekit component of HA will push them to homekit. If you want to integrate devices in HA, it would be nice if you told us what devices we are talking about… I can not say how the integrate a device if i don’t know what device you have.
Well at the moment it’s not possible. But I know that a few people are working on integrating the homepod in HA as a media device right now. It will take some time though.
