I set up a simple energy consumption dashboard using default settings in HA and included the devices that contribute to most significant energy consumption: floor theromstates (z-wave), electric car charger etc. Everything works fine most of the time and gives a good overview of my current energy usage. But once in a while some devices report crazy values - and this destroy whole picture. For example, during last night my dashboard was updated with the following data:
|Bath floor Electric Consumption [kWh]|2.5 kWh|
|Easee EV Charger Lifetime energy|0 kWh|
|Kitchen Power Plug Energy|0.55 kWh|
|Kitchen floor Electric Consumption [kWh]|3.2 kWh|
|Hallway floor Electric Consumption [kWh]|4.9 kWh|
|Toilet floor Electric Consumption [kWh]|0.5 kWh|
|Entrance Floor Electric Consumption [kWh]|15,099,498.8 kWh|
|Shoes Room Floor Electric Consumption [kWh]|0.5 kWh|
|Shower floor Electric Consumption [kWh]|2.7 kWh|
|Grid total|15,099,513.65 kWh|
Look at Entrance Floor Electric Consumption. It reports 15 million kWh which is completely crazy. I had couple of more like this glitches this year, and now the stats for the year (and this week) are not usable.
This is obviously corrupted data sent from a device (Heatit Z-TRM3 z-wave), but I experienced wrong such corrupted measurements from different devices, so I can’t blame it on one faulty unit. Is there any workaround for keeping dashboards sane when a single glitch in measurements occur?
