I just installed a 16 sensor Smartthings system in my house yesterday and it works great from a basic sensor perspective. I get that ADT and the other alarm systems would be put out of business if Samsung integrated a full alarm system into such an easy-to-use package.
What I need to integrate is as follows:
- Entry touchscreen control with intercom - I’d like to be able to arm and disarm the system using a regular Android tablet with photo logging and intercom.
- Delayed 911 integration - My local police station has documented their SMS interface so it should be easy to integrate.
- Phone-based alarms - I need a siren on my phone (or local control pads) in order to alert me to an issue. Again, I understand that Samsung needs to keep ADT in business.
Is Home Assistant not the right choice for me? Is there some other solution out there? Should I just purchase the $500/year ADT system?
