Is it safe to upgrade to 2026.3.4 or will it break Z2M?

Hi all.

Recently brought a Sonoff Dongle-E and have started my Zigbee network! Currently running Zigbee2MQTT and HA 2026.2.3 in docker containers and am wondering if the new HA update will break anything? I know a couple of updates have definitely caused issues with people’s setups.

Thanks

TIAS (try it and see)

  • Stop HA
  • Backup your HA config directory.
  • Tag the current version of your HA docker image (so you can go back to it).
  • Pull the latest version of the HA docker image.
  • Start up the new version of HA.

If it fails:

  • Stop HA.
  • Restore your backed up configuration.
  • Launch the previously tagged version of the HA image.

In practice I don’t usually bother backing up my HA config I just tag the old docker image and test the new one, but your risk tolerance may be different to mine.

PS For what its worth I am running HA 2026.2.3 with Z2M, but just because I haven’t encountered any issues doesn’t mean you won’t, hence TIAS.

there are 4 updates to HA a month… you going to post a thread and ask every release?

Just wanted to check this month’s update because I didn’t want to break the new Z2MQTT I have over here. My light switch only just started working again :joy:
