Is my ZST10 dead?

A few days ago, all of my Zwave entities showed as unavailable. I tried powering down the system, removing and reinstalling the zst10 dongle. Nothing…

Today I decided to try switching the Z-wave JS to Z-wave JS UI

Once done and before adding an unsupervised Zwave JS integration, I got this message in the web UI at the top right in red:
Driver: serial port errored: Port is not open (ZW0100)
Error: Driver: Serial port errored: Port is not open (ZW0100)

I tried restarting the Zwave JS UI
Tried add the unsupervised Zwave JS integration but got a ‘Failed to Connect’

So does that mean my stick is dead and I should get the newer 700 series? Is there a better stick to buy these days?

Thanks!

No it means another program is currently accessing your stick and JsUI can’t.

Given you’re trying to move from JS to JsUI I suspect they’re both trying to grab the stick. Go back into Freshcoasts guide for moving between JS and JsUI. I think you might find you missed a few steps around shutting down the builtin JS integration.

Thank you!

That was a good kick in the pants to do a bit more work. Pulled up a 3 week old backup of Zwave.js I had (when everything was working). Replaced the jsonl files, restarted and then had to choose the wrong and then the right USB stick in settings.

Everything is back. Appreciate it.
