I’m lucky, I suppose, that I never migrated my Nest to Google, because I started going down the path of doing the Nest integration with HA and it was such a huge pain to do so. Purchasing the API license from Google, having multiple levels of config on Google’s unintuitive API access system and I could never get even the basic API setup to complete, let alone finish migrating my Nest over to the Google API.
Since it’s on the old API, I am able to just simply use Homebridge to control my nest and have a hook in HA to connect to the device via Homebridge, and it’s worked great - however it is quite literally the only thing on Homebridge and I have a rPi dedicated to just that task, so I’m wondering if it’s still so complicated to set up the Nest API.
