I recently upgraded my Z-wave stick to the Zooz 800 Series Z-Wave Long Range S2 USB Stick ZST39 LR. After I installed it in Home Assistant, I got this following message:
Controller firmwares based on Z-Wave SDK: 7.19.3 have a bug that causes the controller to randomly hang during transmission until it is restarted. It is currently unclear if this bug is fixed in a later firmware version.
I checked the firmware of the ZST39 LR and it is version 1.2 which is based on Z-Wave SDK version 7.19.3.
I think it’s fine for most people. The bug mentioned affects a subset of users. You won’t know until you start using it. Supposedly a fix is being released in a new firmware this month.
I see this warning all the time when working with my ZST39 LR. Is it coming from the Zooz stick, or from HA, or from zwave-js-ui?
I find it rather annoying that this warning shows up so often and fails to mention any further information about where the warning is coming from, why I’m seeing it, and what I should do to “fix” the issue.
I’ve had no problems with my zwave setup, so I must not be the target audience for this warning. Is there a way to suppress the message?
