If my phone is in a different part of the house, there’s no way for me to know that I’ve received a message unless I hear it, or check my phone.
Is there a way to trigger an automation based upon the existence of a new inbound text message?
Only if the message is sent to a integration with HA, if a person sends you a regular SMS then I would now know how to integrate this with HA (or auto-forward to it)

What you mean by that? How to send SMS to integration? SMS is send to phone number or I missed something in companion app…
Forget my answer , see the previous post … I was not aware that the companion app could be allowed to read all incoming message on a mobile
