Is there a way to hide a device on the map but still show its zone?

I would like to have (some of) my device trackers just display the zone in HA, but not show the device on the map. Feels less stalker-ish. :slight_smile: I realize the raw GPS data will still be part of the device’s state, most likely. It would just be nice to have a show_on_map attribute, for example.

Is this possible?

I’ve figured out sort of a long-hand workaround:

  1. Customize the GPS-based tracker for hidden:true
  2. Add a MQTT device tracker with the same display name, picture, etc.
  3. Use an automation to publish the state (zone) of the GPS tracker to the MQTT topic
