I was hoping to use a script to be able to force one or all of my google assistant speakers. I’ve noticed some of them become sluggish, but having to cycle the power is not an acceptable method.
Last I was aware, if you want to run an Android VM (or have a rooted Android phone), you could make the unofficial API work if you are willing to jump through all the hoops (documented in the open issues here: https://github.com/rithvikvibhu/GHLocalApi/issues).
I think the HA devs may be working on some sort of direct officially supported Google Home integration, so hopefully we’ll get more direct control in a future release.
