Is there way to change my Switchbot pushbot device type from light to switch?

I have a switchbot pushbot attached to a Hub 2 and added using the Matter integration.
The added my Pushbot as a device type of “light”, which was ok until I started using the “lights on/off” automation targets in my automation.

eg “trigger on motion detected in kitched and turn lights in kitchen on” will turn my kitchen lights on, but will also toggle the Pushbot that controls my Breville Barista espresso machine.

I can make work arounds , but the device type also causes issues via my Homekit integration, which also sees the PushBot as a light. Siri command like “turn kitchen lights off” will inadvertently include the pushbot.

Any advice or workarounds would be appreciated! As I dig deeper into HA’s capabilities, I get more impressed but also run into hard problems like this one.

That’s close. I want to change a “light” to a “switch” . The link you shared changes a “switch” to something else.

The Pushbot’s entity id is “light.onofflight_light” if that helps.

I did a quick search for “change light” on that integrations page, and didn’t get any results.
