Issue with Home Assistant Green after trying to install DuckDNS

Hi everyone,

I am experiencing problems with my Home Assistant Green after trying to install DuckDNS. Here is what happened:

  1. Initial Context
  • I tried to install DuckDNS to enable external access but did not complete the setup.
  • Right after that, the device stopped working, and I have not been able to access Home Assistant since.
  1. Steps I have Taken to Solve the Problem

Reinstalled the Operating System:

  • Downloaded the official Home Assistant OS image from the official website.
  • Used Balena Etcher to flash the image onto a new SD card (class 10, good quality).
  • Inserted the SD card into the device and powered it on.

Current Device Status:

  • The lights on the Home Assistant Green are as follows:
    • White light is solid.
    • Yellow and green lights are blinking constantly.
  • It seems the boot process is not completing.

Network Connection:

  • The device appears in my router with the IP 192.168.0.17.
  • I cannot access it via a browser (http://192.168.0.17:8123).
  • When I ping the IP, the result is:
    • Host is down or No route to host.

Other Actions Taken:

  • Changed the Ethernet cable and tried a different port on the router.
  • Restarted both the router and the Home Assistant Green several times.
  1. Questions
  • Could DuckDNS have left any persistent files or configurations that were not removed during the OS reinstallation?
  • What else can I try to resolve this issue?

I currently do not have access to a monitor or keyboard to connect to the device, but I could try that if needed.

  1. Environment

What version of Home Assistant Core has the issue?
I am not sure, as I cannot access the system.

What was the last working version of Home Assistant Core?
I do not recall the exact version, but it was the latest version available when I installed DuckDNS.

What type of installation are you running?
Home Assistant OS.

Anything in the logs that might be useful?
I cannot access the logs because the system will not boot properly.

Additional Information
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your support.

This would be really helpful to help diagnose the issue.

You can move the system media (e.g. SD Card) to a Windows system and use Linux Reader to read the partitions and files.

  • Home-assistant.log
  • home-assistant.log.1
  • Home-assistant.log.fault

There might be information in those logs to help diagnose the problem.
