Issue with Homemactic IP underfloor heating thermostat/control and better thermostat

Hi folks,

Currently i am facing an issue with a homematic ip device (wall thermostat with 230V actuator on a RTL valve for underfloor water heating)

Some backround information:
For every room i currently use the “better thermostat” integration.
It operates mostly well in combination with additional temperature/humidity sensors and window contacts.

In all but one room i use Shelly TRV for the radiators. They work mostly well with “better thermostat” control, but after manual change at the valve, the target temperature sometimes wont be set in “better thermostat”.
And the target temperature (set in better thermostat) allways overshoots (regulation is to slow).

The bathroom has an underfloor water heating with RTL Valve (Return Temperature Limiter) with an actuator controlled by a Homematic IP wall thermostat and homeatic window contacts which are configured in homematic ip.
(conntected to an HM-ip access Wlan point).

Now the problem for this thread:
The target value frequently reverts to the room’s minimum value (configuration in HM-ip).
It makes no difference whether the target temperature is changed via the temperature profile in HM-ip, manually on the thermostat, or via “Better Thermostat” before.
This happens regardless of whether the target temperature has been reached or not, or whether a window has been opened or not.

When a window is opened, the target value was set to the defined “window open” temperature (configured in HM-ip), but it does not revert back afterward…

So for me it seemed clear that the systems dont interact correctly with one another.
So what is tried or thought about until now:

  1. For that reason i tried to “dettach” the window-contacts and moved them into another “room” within HMip, that they dont effect the target value directly within HMip, instead there status (open/close) should now take influence via the “better thermostat” integration… but the status doenst update properly. In my test it took moren than 3 minutes from opening the window until i could recognize the change in HA.

  2. Next i thought about a local solution. I found OpenCCU.
The problem is. My NAS is located in the basement and the HMip devices are in the upper floor. So i cannot use a IP RF-USB-Stick and the LAN/POE solutions i found are no longer being built… and a CCU3 is to expensive to get a single device working.

Now I am thinking about changeing to another thermostat withouth any own control enviornment… Any recommendations? (zigbee or wifi is allready available)?
the only “problem” here is, that the current HMip thermostat is placed and fitts in a 3-slot wall frame within other switches for light and shutters (JUNG AS500).
Any other ideas are welcome.

Kind regards
schlotzi

Hi,
yesterday a new Zigbee wall thermostat from “moes” arrived and ther is the problem, that
i dont have the current temperature a as usable value.#

The value here in the screenshot is not called correct.
the val is the offset for the current temp.

But if i take a look in Z2M there is a real local temp…

but how to access this value?

kind regards.
