I’ve been having issues with HassIO over the past week with the frontend not loading. I’ve wiped, fresh install, restore backup and will be good for a few hours and then the same thing happens with Chrome saying the website is refusing to connect.
My config was valid when checking through SSH so I know that wasn’t an issue.
I’ve gotten to the point that I was thinking maybe an add-on was causing problems so let’s just start fresh and rebuild everything from scratch.
Problem now is that after wiping the SD card and flashing the latest release the front end still won’t load and Chrome is saying that the website is refusing to connect. This is with everything at the default, no config changes or add-ons installed. I know things are/were kind of working when HassIO was installing itself because the logo and text saying something about the install could take 20 minutes was showing up.
So what gives? Any ideas? I’ve tried the 32 bit and 64 bit versions of HassIO and I’m using a rPi 3B+.
I have a normal rPi 3B that I can try but I’d rather use the B+
Try opening it in incognito mode on Chrome. It may think your new instance is an impersonator of your original home assistant due to a change of ssl cert…? Try clearing your cache or opening in a browser you don’t normally use (edge.? IE?)
After the fresh install, are you definitely targeting the correct IP address in your browser? The only other thing I can think of is your SD card is on the way out.
Edit: Could it be your power supply? Does the 3 B+ have a greater power draw than 3 B?
Definitely targeting the correct IP. I use a managed switch and verify the IP assigned to the port that the pi is connected to.
About an hour after my last post the front end loaded. I’m wondering if the B+ just isn’t playing well with HassOS since I never had problems on a regular 3B.
I am using a PoE power splitter to power the B+ which supplies 2.4A. That should be plenty for running the pi without any display or USB peripherals attached. Just for the heck of it I will try powering the B+ with the power supply that it came with to see how things work.
After starting fresh for the 100th time it seems I am again being greeted with err connection refused after making a simple name change to a sensor. I am not the only one with this type of error either so I’m hopeful the devs can get something figured out with a future update.
In the meantime, where can I download an old version of HassIO that uses ResinOS. I never had any issues until I started using HassOS.
I saw this on another post and after deleting the file mentioned everything is so far so good. While have Chromecast integration is nice it won’t effect my overall installation by not having it.

did you use the discovery feature for google cast ?
I found that caused this problem too …
delete the “core.config_entries” file in the “.storage” folder , solved the problem
Hi
I’m having an issue with a fresh hassio on 75.1after restarting it sits saying connecting.
This morning I started over again, Loads for the first time without issue, I left it all day came home and restarted the service in the config section and all I get it “connecting”
I think the issue you are having is specifically related to 75.1 based on a few other posts that I read. I believe 75.2 fixes it if you want to download that and give it a try.
