So I installed using the “All in one installer” to my Pi3 the other day and decided to get things rolling before my hue starter kit gets here. I logged in this morning from my phone to see what the interface looked like and what not.
When I got home from work I ran the upgrade commands and after that I started running into issues. I couldn’t get into the web UI. I double checked my port forwarding was ok and no issues there, everything else interacts fine with the Pi (VPN, SSH etc…) just home assistant
I tried to downgrade and still having the same issue. Not sure if I added to the issue by running all of the stuff I saw on google lol. I was wondering if there was a way for me to just uninstall and start again to try and track exactly where I broke everything?
The uninstall commands I found don’t seem to be working.
That’ll move it all out of the way for you to start again. Next time, it’s worth checking the logs (journalctl -f -u home-assistant) to see what’s being reported since that will almost certainly have the information needed to solve the problem.
I checked the logs before bed last night and saw it was an issue with my configuration yaml file but it all looked normal. I noticed there were multiple config.yaml files in the folder?
I ended up just sudo removing them, uninstalling and then running the all in one curl command and that brought the UI and everything else back.
I’ll make a copy of this yaml just in case it happens again I can just plug that one in.
Thank you for that info I think it would have been way easier to do that way lol
