Issues Installing Home Assistant on Fujitsu Futro S920 – Community Add-ons Missing

Hey everyone,
I’ve been trying to install Home Assistant OS on my Fujitsu Futro S920 and ran into problem after problem. I wanted to share my journey so far and hopefully get some help or insight.

Here’s what I’ve tried:

  1. Installation on 8GB mSATA SSD

First tried installing HAOS using the official Linux method.

Then tried writing the image directly to a USB stick.

Also tried using dd from a Linux machine.

HA only booted when the USB stick was plugged in — oddly, I could remove the USB after boot and it would still run.

  1. Bought a larger mSATA SSD

Faced the same issue.

Eventually found a workaround using sudo efibootmgr to create a boot entry manually.

This finally allowed HAOS to boot directly from the mSATA without needing the USB.

Things were looking good until…

I realized I couldn’t access any Community Add-ons. Only the default official add-ons show up in the Add-on Store.

I checked everything:

DNS config looks fine

Internet connection is solid

Supervisor logs don’t show any major issues

The addons folder seems to be there

But no matter what I tried, I couldn’t get the Community Add-ons to show up.

So I made one last attempt:

  1. Connected a regular SATA SSD instead

Flashed HAOS onto it

Same issue again – no Community Add-ons, everything else works fine

Has anyone experienced something similar on the Futro S920?
I feel like I’m really close, but missing some crucial step or setting. Any ideas would be much appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

By community Add-ons, what do you mean? Not HACS I assume?

If it is HACS then you have to install that.

However, if the repository is missing on your setup, adding this add-ons repository to your Home Assistant instance is pretty easy. In the Home Assistant add-on store, a possibility to add a repository is provided.
