Issues migrating from Sonoff Dongle-P to HA Connect ZBT-2 antenna

Hi everyone,

I’m posting here to see if anyone else is experiencing or has experienced problems adopting the ZBT-2 antenna in their setup.

I have a network with 105 Zigbee devices running on Zigbee2mqtt and the Sonoff Dongle-P dongle for about 2 years, and everything was working fine. There was some occasional slowdown, but it was all acceptable. However, after reading about the amazing signal improvements with the new NabuCasa ZBT-2 antenna, I decided to buy one and install it in my setup.

So far so good, but when I tried to migrate from the Dongle-P to the ZBT-2, everything went wrong. Many things went offline, even after following several different tutorials online. I decided to start from scratch. I reset Zigbee2mqtt, repaired all devices (I don’t have any new devices, they’re the same ones from the previous network that worked very well with the Dongle-P), and even so, the errors have decreased, but I have a very large delay on several devices, others that don’t respond to the first command, it’s a real mess.

And I’m getting several errors like those in the log below.

Can anyone give me some insight into how to solve this problem?
Has anyone experienced this before and knows what might be happening?

Nothing has changed in my house, I don’t have any new devices, I haven’t moved devices, I’m very frustrated with this ZBT-2 product.

I’m using the latest firmware version for the ZBT-2 antenna (7.5.1.0) and the latest version of Zigbee2mqtt (2.9.1), with the following settings:

I was never able to get mine to work very well, so went back to Dongle-P.
I changed the IEEE address, used Zigpy to migrate the device database from Dongle-P to ZBT-2
and things worked fine for the first few devices, but the routing never seemed to settle out, so gave up.

Thought I would share my experiences with ZBT-2 used for ZigBee with ZigBee2MQTT. I have 24 ZigBee nodes, 22 of which are Philips Hue lights (plus a few Cree bulbs) which act as ZigBee Routers. A few of my rooms have several lights in them. I managed to solve part of my problem.

I had to buy a 5-meter USB extension cable with a filter and move the antenna in my office (central part of the house) at least 2 meters away from the nearest electronic device (printer, monitor, desktop, gateway, etc.). I don’t know why, but it eliminated 90% of the errors I was getting on Z2m.

However, I’ve been like this for a week and so far the Zigbee mesh hasn’t “adjusted.” The same devices, in the same places, don’t work as they did before. Door sensors that were on the edges stopped working; they work sometimes, sometimes they don’t. If I press a button on the switch several times, it performs random actions (even though the switch is 50cm from the antenna), as if it had a “flow control”, for example, if the user pressed the switch 4 times in 2 seconds, it only lets through 2 times, very strange. I have rtscts: true as Z2m recommends for that antenna, but it doesn’t seem to work properly.

I’ll wait a little longer, try to include some Dongle-P antenna repeaters I have lying around, but let me tell you, this little antenna is pretty, but ordinary, very bad, it doesn’t even come close to the “stable” performance I had with the Sonoff Dongle-P. It’s amazing how technology evolves, gets faster, but the service gets worse, lol.
