Issues with Integrating Tuya Devices into Home Assistant

We have two Tuya devices: a switch (ATORCH-Temperature Controller, model AT4PTW) and an electricity meter (PC321-W-TY Bi-Directional). Both devices were previously connected to Home Assistant via Local Tuya and worked flawlessly. However, after performing a “device update” for the electricity meter through the Smart Life app, the device stopped sending data to Home Assistant. The switch continued to work without any issues at that time.

To resolve the issue:

  • We deleted and recreated projects in the Tuya IoT platform.
  • After deleting the switch’s project, its data also disappeared from Home Assistant.
  • We moved to the Tuya Cloud integration, but both devices now show as “unsupported.”

Currently:

  • Both devices work perfectly in the Smart Life app and display all their data.
  • Both devices are marked as “online” in the Tuya IoT Platform, and their DPID data is visible via “Device Debugging.”
  • Home Assistant still does not display any entities for the switch or the meter (both are labeled as “unsupported”).

How can we resolve this issue and restore the ability to monitor and control both devices in Home Assistant?

Hi there, may I suggest to try Tuya Local integration. I see on the supported device list, that yours 1st device is listed. The 2nd device is listed without the W, but still worth a try.

Hi,

Thank you so much for suggesting the Tuya Local integration. Following your advice, I managed to partially integrate both of my devices:

Electric Meter (PC321-W-TY): Successfully displays all the required data.

Switch (ATORCH AT4PTW): During the installation process, only three device type options were available, but none were correct:
basic_ir_remote – does not work at all
dooya_curtain – shows only ON/OFF status and temperature but does not allow controlling the switch
s11_rfir_remote – does not work at all

Currently, I have selected “dooya_curtain” but I would like to know if you have any ideas on how to enable ON/OFF control or how to get the correct device type selection that would allow full control of the switch?

Once again, thank you for your guidance – it has been incredibly helpful in moving forward.

Hi, I think you should try to submit an issue in the integration page.
