No matter what I do, I receive this error.
I cannot configure or start the MQTT server.
Without the proper Login ID and PW it will not let you in. You have anonymous set to false, so it has to have the ID/PW. The stuff below folder is for SSL/TLS validation.
Try True for anonymous
Also the mosquitto site
True for anonymous did not work.
I thought it just used the users from homeassistant?
Its really weird its like the config is not valid.
What is the most basic configuration for testing as im sure absolutely nothing works…
Ok i went to intergrations and added a MQTT integration with a server of 127.0.0.1 and username and password. It seemed to connected and add find but when I attempt to “Configure” it I get this error now.
ok all sorted with a reboot.
Left all config as default.
Is it secure?
Glad you got it sorted out. You needed to have that integration it is required. I thought you had that in place already from your posting.
That is a relative question. It is as secure as it can be. Remember this is inside your local network behind a modem/router with a NAT in place. Hopefully you are using a separate network for the IoT to isolate network with a VLAN. Your wireless should be using at least WAP 2 authentication. It is what you put there (in front entrance) that makes things secure.
