I’ve been encountering issues with my Zooz 800 Z-Wave Stick, which used to work seamlessly. Recently, however, there have been problems in the Z-Wave network, practically causing it to freeze. Despite installing the latest firmware and updates, this problem persists. Additionally, there’s a message in Z-Wave IS (Intelligence System) indicating that this issue may occur with this firmware.
My question to the community is whether anyone has experienced similar difficulties with the 500 series variant of the Aeotec Z-Wave Stick. In my setup, only around 30 devices are connected via Z-Wave, including crucial components like the alarm system and heating.
I’ve never had issues with Z-Wave before, and I’m genuinely grateful for any feedback and possible solutions. I’m even considering scrapping everything and switching to Matter, although I plan to replace Z-Wave with Matter eventually – but one step at a time. I appreciate any support and advice!
I have a Zooz 800 series controller and have had weeks where it just works but lately something has happened again and a few of my devices just stop communicating. I either have to re-add them, randomly physically disconnect/reconnect, hit buttons, ping etc. to radomly get them to connect again. I have been patiently waiting about a year to hopefully iron out the issues but very frustrating. I think the fact that I have zwave devices from several manufatures and various ages. The “z-wave” standard I believe is wishy washy on some of these devices as they all seem to comunicate or error differently.
Oh yes, I am using HA on a Minix pc with VM on it, Also I am running zwave-js.
I have an old 500 series aeotec, that can not be update,d due to age, to the latest firmware. That was flawless until 1 month ago when i suddenly started to lose connection to the stick. I had to physically disconnect and connect it again to make it work.
I read there were sim issues and that i had to update the firmware to make it work. And now that i know i can’t update it i most likely need to update the hardware to a new stick, and i do not know what to choose…
