I would like to suggest that the HA backup/restore feature offers decryption of a snapshot in a way so that users can download the decrypted tar file and manually pick what they need.
Currently, a snapshot can be decrypted and restored, but only directly to the system, i.e. there is no possibility to fetch individual files (e.g. for a Lovelace card or an ESPhome config). For this, users would first have do download the encrypted snapshot, use an external Python tool for decryption (see link below), and then unpack the decrypted tar file to fetch what they need.
