It takes a day before temp is reached but valves still do not open wide. Using homematic on raspberry

Hi all,

Can anyone shine his light on the following?:

I have two homematic radiatorvalves (HmIP-eTRV-B) and a homematic wallthermostat (HmIP-WTH-2) set up in a group (living) in Raspberrymatic.
Now whether I run a heating schedule or set the temperature manually, it takes all day before the actual temperature comes close to the set temp.
Even though the temperature has been >2C below set temp for hours, valves rarely open further than 36%.
It does never boost although the boost time has been set to 10min.
The only way is to boost manually.

I considered

  1. just setting 1C higher than desired, or setting an offset, but this is not an option because at the end of the day the temperature gets too high.
  2. programming set temp at say 30C for an hour in the mornings.

Is there a better way to make home assistant heat to set temp a little more adequately?
Or to always start with a boost?

I appreciate any help!
Cheers,
Gerrit

Boost is only a manual option.

Regarding your temperature issue, then how do you measure the room temperature?
Is it Homematic wall thermometers or is it a third party products?
If it is a third party product, then your Homematic TRVs is using only it’s built-in thermometers and they are probably pretty close to the radiator in an area where the air will be heated up more than the rest of the room.
If it is Homematic wall thermometers than are they linked up?

Thanks Wally,

You are right it is the Homematic wallthermostat that measures the room temperature. They are linked up and working together properly for the rest.
It’s just that it’s not acting aggressively enough for me. Only end of the day it approaches set temp…

You can set some options on the TRVs for how much deviation they accept between actions. It is named something with stasis in the end and it is typical something like 0.4K.
Try lowering that.

The alternative is to make your own logic, but it can be hard and if you choose to go that way, then mains powering the TRVs might be a good idea, because they will be activated a lot more.
I use NodeRed for my heating setup with Homematic IP on debmatic and Homematic Local integration.
