Hi to everyone, I am moving my first steps into the HA (…and into Home Automation in general ).
I have installed some wifi Sonoff devices to control lights and roller shutters by ewelink. I have installed HA in a Raspberry and I would like to control the Sonoff devices by HA only in local mode. I have read some ways to control the ITEAD devices but I have not been able to figure out which is, at this time, the best method for stability and configurability of devices.
Thank you very much for your advices
Do you have HACS installed? There is addon called “Sonoff LAN” and it allows exactly that.
I converted all my sonoff’s to esphome, but that’s another story…
Hi Pavel, thank you for your answer.
No, I don’t have HACS installed. I have read about “Sonoff LAN” and the official ITEAD Add-ON, can I ask you which of them you should reccomend and why?
Thanks you in advance.
I’d recommend you to install HACS and then pull down sonoff LAN from there. Easiest way to do. You need hacs anyway, there are tons of usable things there. One of them is “custom button card” - huuuugely usable thing. I’d say that over 50% of my cards are made with that card. So versatile, flexible, universal… i forgot that built-in “button-card” or “markdown card” even exists in HA, since i don’t use them.
I’d recommend sonofflan, it supports more devices running the ewelink firmware
