Itunes media player component on Windows device

Hi to all,

I want to use itunes as a media player in my home assistant. I have itunes installerd on my windows PC.
Reading about how configuring component, says this: “It uses a 3rd party server that you run on your Mac called itunes-api”

So this mean that only is possible use itunes like media player if you have Apple mac device?

There is other way to use itunes like media player on HA with windows PC ?

I was wondering the same thing. Either run it on Windows or Synology.
