Jasco ZWave Light Switch Add Device

Good morning, I am a newbie to HA and am moving over from Smartthings. I have about a dozen Jasco Zwave paddle light switches that I am trying to add to HA. I am trying to add my first device to HA and am running into problems. I have deleted the light switch from Smartthings and completed a factory reset on the device. When I scan the QR code on the device into HA I get a message “the device has been added. Once you power it on, it will become available”. I have turned the light switch on but the device is not added to Z-Wave JS. I have tried to add the device over multiple days and still get the same messages without the device being added.

I am running HA on Green and the Z-wave USB is the Zooz 800 (Model ZST39 LR) and it has been updated to the 7.22 SDK. I have looked for other post concerning this matter and did not find any so any assistance that can be provided would be greatly appreciated.

If you are powering up the Jasco device for inclusion and it is physically located far away from the controller, it has been my experience that the inclusion process doesn’t always work. If this is your case, my suggestion is to power the Jasco device near the Zooz. Then move it to the desired destination.

Turning the switch on, is not the same as powering the switch. That would be done by tossing the circuit breaker.

Or if the breakers are inconvenient, pulling out the hard power cutoff button on the bottom left of the Jasco - count three, then push it back in.
