Keyboard Remote iOS Shortcuts

Hi Friends,

I’m running Home Assistant OS with the latest 2025.7 core and the latest Home Assistant app for iOS.

Is it possible to use a Bluetooth keyboard connected to an iPad to trigger HA automations?

For example, I’d like to turn on my bedroom lights and AC when I press the CMD+Y key combination on my iPad.

Hope someone can help

I trigger some HA automations from my iPad using iOS shortcuts.
I had to defined some HA webhooks. These can be invoked from a browser or iOS shortcut. I did a quick search for creating HA webhooks but couldn’t find the documentation.

Edit:
Here is some documentation on webhooks. I would get the webhook working from a browser (safari ) using a http url and then
add a shortcut.

Hi @vic4news , thank you for your comment.
I also created a few iOS shortcuts, that work with voice commands or with the HA companion app widgets.
But now I’m looking for a different kind of trigger. I’m trying to create a trigger that is envoked by a bluetooth keyboard key combination.
Do you know if that’s possible?

I don’t use a keyboard so I don’t know. Can you run a shortcut from the keyboard?

You could try this.

Thank you. I will read about it :folded_hands:
