Kwikset HC620 Z-Wave lock - unknown/unavailable but still responsive to lock/unlock commands

I’m hoping for ideas on how to troubleshoot an issue with one of my Z-Wave locks. The lock appears in Home Assistant, responds to automations and manual lock/unlock commands, but the lock’s current status is always showing as “unknown” and the lock’s sensor entities either as “unknown” or “unavailable”. I’d like to set up automations that work with the lock’s state, but can’t if the information isn’t showing in HA. I’ve tried re-interviewing the device and it shows as connected properly despite the “unknown” entities. Any suggestions on next steps for troubleshooting would be welcome. The lock is connected via a Zooz ZAC93 HAT attached to my HA Yellow, and is only one of three Z-Wave devices (the other two, including one other different-model lock, work as expected).

I was asked on the HA Discord about signal strength/RSSI: RSSI of the device is -86dBm, and the controller average background RSSI is -102dBm.

I had a similar problem recently with a Schlag…

I dismounted the lock, took it to within a foot of the HomeAssistant box.
Hit the programming code on the lock - no other commands - just the programming code. IT should sit there for about 10-15 seconds before it times out.

While in this mode I hit “re-interview” in HomeAssistant and after two tries it came back with everything.

Moved the lock back to the door and did a “rebuild route” a few times and one more “re-interview” and it was good to go.

Thanks - I’ll give that a try.

Did that resolve for you? I just updated ZWave JS (to 0.20.0 from 0.11.0), and got warnings for all my zwave devices, which re-interview fixed for all except the Schlage. Now almost all my Schlage doorlock entities are unknown. Unknown manufacturer and model displayed as well. Even though Lock and Unlock work fine.

Update: Doing the Programming and re-interview brought it all back, thankfully!
