Lafaer Human Presence Sensor fail

I got impatient waiting for the FP300s from Aqara and so bought the LeFaire Human Presence Sensors (LWR01). The first one out of the box connected to Home Assistant via Matter and it just permanently sees presence. Not a great start. Anyone else had the same challenge?

Seeing same thing. Installed last night.
Going to go back to basic motion sensors!

When I saw that the firmware was 1.0, I thought ā€˜whoops, should have waited’

Hi - not quite your situation, but I was also an early adopter of the Lafaer LWR01, and was equally nervous about FW 1.0 …
However after a couple of go’s it connected fine Matter-wise to my IKEA Dirigera and it has been working flawlessly in a relative’s small, narrow toilet. Light stays on when someone is on the throne, and turns off after 1min when left.
Very pleased that it does not pick up on anyone in the bathroom or kitchen adjacent to the toilet, even though the walls are drywall. Did not even need me to fiddle with zones etc.
I’ve just ordered a second one, for their bathroom with shower (the LWR01 can be battery powered and has waterproofing) - idea is that they won’t have to remember to switch off lights after exiting.

I can’t seem to keep these connected. Works great for a day or two, then ā€œUnavailableā€

Same here. I bought two. First one connected to the Home Assistant with a Sonoff Zigbee Dongle glashed with OpenThread, but constantly reports presence detected. The brightness detection seems to work fine.
The second one does not want to connect to Home Assistant at all. Companion App says ā€œHome unable to communicate with deviceā€.’

Any help is appreciated.

Off to the spares drawer it goes. Hopefully the Aqara FP300s are my solution.

I ended up seeking a refund from them. They returned my money. They mentioned that a room with any glass windows will cause false positives - which makes them useless in any house I know of. Unless you’re in jail.

I have two of these devices connected to Home Assistant. Every few weeks, one of them (sometimes the first, sometimes the second) loses its connection to Home Assistant and goes completely offline. I can’t restore the connection in HA. I’ve tried everything: restarting HA, restarting the entire system, pinging, and everything else. So far, the only thing that has helped is removing the battery for about 10 seconds. Immediately after reinserting it, the device is back online. Of course, this isn’t a permanent solution, but at least I don’t have to re-pair it.
