LAN and WAN

Hello, I have a question… My HA works well, but when switching connection from 3g to wifi. I have wan ip set as home assistant and when i switch to wifi, only lan ip to ha hub works?

How can i solve this matter?

I hope i explained it clearly.

So when on Wifi you are not able to enter the external IP address ( i.e. 139.130.4.5) and you need to enter a local IP address (i.e. 192.168.1.2) to reach the HA web page?

Exactly sir. Because i think it also messes owntracks and pressence cos of this.

Mine has always been this way. I just have 2 shortcuts set up… 1 internal, 1 external.

I would like to have 1 only… and as i said, i can see that it also confuses owntracks.

Are you saying that when you switch to WIFI, the owntracks is not working?
If you want owntracks work outside your network then you need to set the external IP (Public IP) for access.
Remember that you need the port forwarding working if you host our MQTT server internally.

What i’ve noticed so far is…

on my android its working OK ( but i usually have 3g connection ).
Girlfriend’s iphone stucks , her location just dont automaticly update - i assume it’s because of switching from wifi to 3g…

another thing i’ve noticed, when on wifi (in owntracks we both have external IP set), owntracks doesn connect with the server (logicaly?).

But my ports should be open if i can access from 3g to my home assistant?

I set up a DNS host mapping on my router between my local ip and the domain name. I am able to use the same domain name internally or externally. Internally it redirects to my pi and externally it redirects to duckdns with resolves to my public address and then back to my router and then to pi.

I made sure 8123 and 443 are pointing to my pi with port forwarding.

I think I would need this. Ufortunatelly i dont have access to my router, because my ISP uses some thing called innbox ( i dont know it ), but I know that my hub has open ports.

is there any tutorial how can i redirect these IPs? it’s really an annoying thing that you have to switch between 2 assistant’s IPs.
