What”s the largest know Home Assistant deployment?
I presume +1000 entities and a quite large database?
Any known limits so far?

I’ve seen some folks post that they have 2,000+ devices. That seems a lot. I have about 200 and thought I was doing well, but apparently I’m just a pauper.

I have more than 1000+ entities and by far not the largest setup, my database is small don’t record everything

The limit is your hardware.

I have only 504 entities.
Still, that’s most stuff in my home automated in some way.

I don’t know how many entities I have. Way more than devices, obviously, because most devices have more than one entity, automations and such are entities, plus template sensors, etc, etc.

Actual devices, I have about 225 I would guess. In a 5 bedroom home.

By number, I have the most zigbee devices. At least 2 or 3 sensors in each room, plus multiple bulbs.
Second to that is Z-Wave devices. Just about every switch on every wall except for ceiling/exhaust fans.
All my ceiling and exhaust fans are Kasa switches (because they can handle higher rushing currents and I only need on/off for them).
Some of the room sensors are Wyze, but I’m phasing them out because they are horrible.
4 ESPHome devices for very specific needs that an off-the-shelf product couldn’t be found for.
2 WLED devices (more on the way).
An Alexa in each room plus a Chromecast or Roku in each room that has a television.
Various zigbee buttons in each room to allow for manual control of some things.

I feel like my setup is pretty complete for all the basic needs (motion, doors, climate, lights). Now I’m getting into accent lighting and specific sensors for less common needs.

Home Assistant is no where near “the limit”. I run it on a cheap ($300) “mini computer” I bought on AliExpress. It’s quite a bit faster than a Raspberry Pi, but, I think a Pi with an SSD could easily handle what I’m throwing at it.

I’ve dabbled a little in face detection from cameras. But the processing for that runs on another server.
