Latest Supervisor version?

To this day, the latest stable Supervisor version advertised on https://version.home-assistant.io/stable.json (which seems to be the URL queried to retrieve the latest Supervisor version) is 2022.07.0.

But on the project page, there has been 4 releases since then (2022.07.1 to 2022.08.3).

Is this expected? Shouldn’t https://github.com/home-assistant/version/blob/c1f0749d73c6e357697872e5163d290d6de0fb76/stable.json be updated to 2022.07.1 at least (if 2022.08.x is still considered beta)?

It seems this has been fixed, https://version.home-assistant.io/stable.json now reports 2022.08.3 for Supervisor.

EDIT: There was no issue to start, see Latest Supervisor version? - #3 by CentralCommand

Yes. Each release of supervisor automatically becomes the next beta. If everything goes well then it is promoted to stable by changing the stable.json file you linked. If not then it is simply never released on the stable channel. Since every release of supervisor is expected to go stable unless proven problematic none of them are marked as pre-releases.

No. 2022.07.1 never left beta, there were some issues identified. It’s also not a patch release, it was simply the second one in July of 2022.

Supervisor does not work like core when it comes to releases. There isn’t a defined release cadence and a point version does not mean a patch. Since supervisor auto-updates only the latest version matters so whenever something is deemed release worthy its version is based on the date and number of releases that month. That’s all that number tells you.
