I even replaced the led strip conttoller already with a different brand and got exactly the same problem.
The issue is when turning the device on by either calling the light on service or using device on in automations, it quite some times immediately turns off afterwards, and stays “on” in power state in z2m that i am using.
I feel something is wrong here as i replaced the whole controller as i said, and also repaired the first one.
Anyone else have this issue? Any solutions?
Powering them down, increasing and decreasing brightness etc is never a problem.
Never had this issue on smartthings, i guess it is also something to do with how z2m interacts with it then. I bought a thin version, hope it has some other firmware without this bug.
How much total watts are you trying to drive on each channel? I’ve had several led selling companies warning me that must always over dimension led drivers by a substantial amount. During startup, leds may consume considerable more for a short time, and drivers don’t appreciate. It might be overload protection kicking in.
Not too great news, I have the exact same problem with the shown controller. Already got a replacement one that looks slightly different but the problem persists…
I was on ZHA before and had the same problem as I do now on Zigbee2MQTT. Can (mostly) confirm it has nothing to do with the power supply, since I have also changed that to an oversized one (~150W for 5m LED Strip). The LED strip too is not the problem, since I have tried unplugging it and then checking whether there is power from the controller, which was not the case.
I am having a hard time finding any threads with the same problem, however this thread describing the same problem with “LIVARNO” branded lights, seems similar: https://github.com/Koenkk/zigbee2mqtt/issues/14714
Glad if you could share findings and resources, threads, etc.
Well i have good news for you, the issue should be fixed and should be live on the update coming early february. I raised this issue on github and someone found the source of it.
