Let's Encrypt Domain

In the Let’s Encrypt config
What should the Let’s Encrypt “domain” be if…

A) Installed to Pi from hass.io
B) Accepted all defaults

What is the domain name I should be typing in?

I feel like an idiot asking this.

My url is…
http://hassio:8123/hassio/addon/core_letsencrypt

You type in the domain you’re using - the one your HA system is accessed with from the Internet.

If you haven’t yet set that up, then you probably don’t yet have a domain to use. You should look at DuckDNS - and the DuckDNS add-on also handles Let’s Encrypt for you.

A domain name that you own.

Thank you.

I’m using Nabu Casa.
Do I even need Let’s Encrypt?

Thanks.

No, you only need Let’s Encrypt if you want direct remote access, with either a domain you own, or through a service like DuckDNS.

'Thank you!
