Has anyone had any luck integrating the Level locks (particularly the Touch edition) into HA? I see a number of fragile work-arounds, but since this will be our main entryway, I need something that just works.
I currently have an August lock which works perfectly with HA, but the battery life is hideous. I go through a ton of batteries, so looking to change to something less conspicuous. My wife hates keypads, so the Level would be ideal, but only if I can get it to work with HA.
Home Assistant now has proper BlueTooth support, as well as the built in HomeKit Controller integration
Home Assistant can now see my Level Touch lock, but I can’t get it to pair - “Cannot add pairing as device can no longer be found.”
Yeah using home assistant doesn’t change anything with your phone
You remove the ability to connect it to a Ring doorbell app if you connect it to home assistant…but you can probably guess what I find to be more useful
AFAIK, the HomeKit integration only allows exposing/controlling Home Assistant devices from HomeKit, not the other way around, correct? I assume that this would then require removing the Level lock from HomeKit and adding via the HomeKit Controller option, which only seems to work with bluetooth dongle directly attached to Home Assistant (at the present time).
I’m waiting for the kinks to be worked out with bluetooth_proxy and ESPHome. I was able to pair using bluetooth_proxy, though the lock did not function. However, with the HomeKit Controller option, it means that it would only provide remote lock/unlock control of the lock, but no additional functionality the Level Touch edition provides (Touch, Key cards, Guest configuration, etc), which would severely limit usage. Has anyone else had a different experience?
