in the attached image you can see the on/off lever for the entity and “run” for the script. Is it possible to have a lever also for the script and not “run”?

Use can create a Template switch so that you have a usable toggle on the frontend.
However, you might want to consider another approach. Scripts don’t usually stay “on”, so the toggle/lever will flip “on” then quickly “off”. This can be confusing for other people in the household because it looks like something is broken, especially if the actions of the script aren’t immediately apparent.
