Hey gang, still fairly new with Home Assistant but loving it so far. Made the switch from SmartThings and have already discovered so many powerful integrations with this platform.
So, I saw the LG ThinQ integration and wondered, what are practical use cases for integrating with home appliances? I have all LG appliances and their app already notifies me of the basic items - washer done, dryer done, refrigerator open, etc. What kind of automations are you creating for these?

Would love this a well. Have some AC units with ThinQ and some humidity and temperature sensors. Would love to switch the AC on when it needs to (too humid / too hot / too cold) before we arrive home.
I don’t think this is easy to get. They have a REST API, but… Besides the fact that it is cloud based it’s also only for partners. So you’d have to sign up for their partner program first before you could use it.
When the cycle is finished you can turn on the lights in the laundry room 
I would like to load the washer/ dryer and hit delayed start, then when HA determines, low cost/ excess solar to remotely switch on.
This doesn’t seem to be supported at present.
The LG app supports remote start, but not the HA integration.
For my other non-smart appliances, I have a smart plug that HA can switch.
