LG Web OS Pairing

Hey,

I failed to add my LG WebOS TV to Home Assistant. The problem seems to be the pairing process according to the log.

But I cannot find any possibility to pair Home Assi and TV.

Can you guys help me out ?

Actual webos, Home Assi running on raspberry.

Hi,

When you setup the WebOS you must make sure SmartApp is enabled in TV. In HASS webui you will get a configure button, press this and the pairing will start and you need to Accept on the TV.

Thats all you need todo.

Well I was dumb… I have groups and only active icons in the Interface. Thanks for the heads up !

Hi! Need Help pairing my LG WebOS TV.

Tried all possible ways to endter this code (it changes after several tries).

Don´t have more ideas…

Somehow I got the TV paired, but it does not work. It shows me LG webOS tv, and I have set it as multimedia device.

media_player:
  - platform: webostv
    host: 172.16.1.133
    name: Elutoa TV
    filename: webostv.conf
    timeout: 5
    turn_on_action:
      service: persistent_notification.create
      data:
        message: "Turn on action"
    customize:
      sources:
        - livetv
        - youtube

EDIT: After a restart, it Discovered the LG TV again, it means it is not paired…

It did not work when I asked for help. But yesterday evening I was able to control the Volume and turn OFF the TV, but was not able to turn it ON again. Also the pause button did not work. The original Android App for TV works fine.

I have paired it with this code, but HA is still telling me that a device was found and I should pair it. It is stated as HomeKit device. Should I install some HomeKit component???

I’m curious if you ever solved this? I’m in a similar state. Feels like I’m missing something obvious(?).

OK… when I looked again I had two messages about discovered devices. One for the Home Kit ACC and then another for the TV.

Working now.

Did you install some home kit application?

No. That still is there. I looked at:

But I couldn’t find the LG Connected APPs on my TV. Turns out It was automatically on.

With the correct config in configuration.yaml I then got a second notification of the TV being found from Home Assistant. Clicking on it (HA Notification), it pairs with the TV and then works.

I have the same problem:

TV: OLED55B9PLA
Software: 04.70.04 (TV says it’s the latest)
Connectivity: LAN

The device is discovered with the most basic configuration:

media_player:
- platform: webostv
  name: TV

When I click “configure” in HA, I see a QR code and pairing code on the screen. No matter how I type it (HA says XXX-XX-XXX) I only get a new pairing code from the TV.

Problem here is that webostv declaration has changed , now it should be specified with its own domain and not under media_player, look here and here.

The declaration change doesn’t address the pairing issue. I still can’t pair my SM9000 with latest firmware 04.71.04 and hassio 104.1 on pi3b+. It just doesn’t take the pairing code.

you are right, homekit pairing is not working.

Hello, did anybody get it work?
Same problem with LG TV 65NANO863. Configured by YAML, but in States I can see only:

configure_id: 1907551728-1
fields:
friendly_name: LG TV Obyvak
entity_picture: null
