Hello Home Assistant Community,
I’m currently facing challenges with integrating my LIFX switch into HomeKit, particularly with buttons 1 and 2. Despite configuring these buttons to control non-LIFX devices, they’re unresponsive in HomeKit. I’m curious if anyone has had success in a similar setup. However if I leave it setup as Lifx Device in the switch settings the buttons in homekit work.
Additionally, I’m actively working with LIFX support to resolve this issue. Here’s a brief overview of the troubleshooting steps we’ve taken:
- Network Compatibility: Checked for compatibility issues with my Google Nest router, considering switching to a dedicated 2.4 GHz network for the switch.
- Cloud Connectivity: Ensured the switch is online in both the LIFX app and the cloud.
- Reset and Reconfigure: Followed steps to reset the switch and the router, and reconfigure the setup.
- HomeKit Integration: Attempted to remove and reintegrate the switch from HomeKit to address connectivity issues.
- Device Diagnostics: Sent diagnostic data to LIFX support for further analysis.
The current state of lifx support is they think its cause my google wifi router has 2.4 and 5 bands merged and they want me to split them as the switch will go between the two. which is quite frustrating and means i have to get another wifi router
Despite these efforts, the issue with buttons 1 and 2 remains unresolved. I would greatly appreciate any insights or experiences you might have with a similar setup in HomeKit.
