Light sensors that continuously update?

I have a number of PIR in both ZigBee and zwave but they all have the same problem, they only update the Lux values when motion is detected
This is problematic because if I want to know it’s dark then it will only have the last value from when motion was detected, which in many cases is when a light was on

Are there any devices that will give Lux continuously?

This might work… I have a few ESPs lying around which is a bonus too…

Haven’t noticed this problem with Philips Hue. They do seem to update when motion is detected, but there are changes at other times too.
